St. Timothy's

ORGANIST / PIANIST

Ellen Greisiger (summer 2024)

Ellen joined St. Timothy’s as our Organist/Pianist in November 2021.  Ellen is a promising young church musician, who quickly proved to be a wonderful asset to the St. Timothy’s community.  In addition to playing music to accompany the liturgy at our worship services, in the absence of a Choir Director Ellen works with our small but mighty choir to provide anthems for special services.  Ellen plays both our electric organ and our baby grand piano.

In 2019 and 2021, Ellen participated in the St. Albert Rotary Music Festival.  In 2021, she won awards in both Classical and Baroque piano, and received an invitation to the Alberta Provincial Music Festival.

In 2019, Ellen began studying organ under the guidance of Marnie Giesbrecht, a Professor Emerita at the University of Alberta.  In 2020, Ellen earned a “Beginning Organists Scholarship” through the Edmonton Centre branch of the Royal Canadian College of Organists (RCCO).

Ellen is currently working on her Royal Conservatory of Music Level 10 in piano.

Ellen began her post-secondary education in September 2023 at the Augustana Campus of the University of Alberta.  Although that means she does not play for us on a regular basis, we are thrilled to have her back at the organ during her school break.
