St. Timothy's
KIDS' CHURCH
Here at St. Timothy's, we are in an active re-building stage for our programming for our youngest members. We currently offer an all ages "Kids' Church" each Sunday morning during our 10 am service.
If there is no one available to lead Kids' Church, we supply activity bags for the children to use during the service. We also have an area set aside near the front of the nave, with a table and chairs and colouring activities. Kids are welcome to explore their surroundings throughout the services.
We are loosely following the curriculum found at Sermons4Kids .
In general, Kids’ Church is structured as follows:
Children join their families in the Nave for the Gathering of the Community, which concludes with a short “Children of God Time” with the priest
The children then head to the Boardroom for Kids’ Church
They share in a Bible Story, which most times is related to the Gospel of the day
The children share in a time of singing, and sometimes they prepare a piece to share with the congregation
They then have some activities, such as a colouring sheet, word search, or cross-word, and some more challenging “decoder sheets” that sometimes involve maths for the older children
There is usually a snack each Sunday
The children rejoin their families at the Offertory Hymn, as it is important that the children learn the importance of the Eucharist to our worship and life as a church
We have funds available for a stipend to hire a Kids' Church leader. So if you are interested, please do contact our office. In the interim, we are grateful to some volunteers who have stepped forward to lead Kids' Church.
