St. Timothy's
BOOK CLUB
This is not your ordinary Book Club.
There is no need to read ahead, and trying to pretend you have done your "homework" if you didn't find time to read the book.
We read - outloud - together each week.
We stop for conversation when someone has a question, comment, funny antidote, concern etc.
Sometimes we read a whole chapter in a session.
Sometimes we only get through 4 pages.
It is a time of fellowship and lively discussion.
We are currently reading Stranger God: Meeting Jesus in Disguise by Richard Beck.
In 2022, we read:
Unbelievable: Why Neither Ancient Creeds Nor the Reformation Can Produce a Living Faith Today by John Shelby Spong
A Grief Observed by C.S. Lewis
The Rebel Christ by Michael Coren
Past books we have read include:
Putting Away Childish Things: A Tale of Modern Faith by Marcus Borg
The Lord Is My Shepherd: Healing Wisdom of the Twenty-third Psalm by Harold S. Kushner
Nine Essential Things I've Learned About Life by Harold S. Kushner
One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are by Ann Voskamp
Searching for Sunday: Loving, Leaving, and Finding the Church by Rachel Held Evans
