Youth group has started for this year! Please read below for a message from Sydney Caron, the youth leader. If you have any questions or would like to speak with Sydney about youth group, please contact the church  office to request her contact information.

Our first Monday night Youth Group meeting was an introduction to what a typical night at Youth would be like. We began our night with a time of socializing, allowing an opportunity for youth to meet and greet one another. Next, we prepared for prayer by taking a 10 minute personal quiet time to listen to a worship song, pray, and rest. Then, we came together in a prayer circle, each taking turns to pray as we contributed with a response to one of the following statements: God You Are..., God I am thankful for..., God I give you..., God please be with..., and God I need... After our group prayer we discussed the importance of "Prayer Partners".  This will be a weekly activity that will provide an opportunity to pray with and for another person, and to be prayed for, weekly as we meet at Youth Group and also as our prayer partner comes to mind throughout the week. Following our time of partnered prayer we broke into groups and brainstormed discussion topics that will be explored and discussed during a weekly activity called "Table Talk" where groups of Youth will discuss a topic and share their experiences, opinions, and ideas. Next, the Youth will usually  participate in a time of listening and learning about the theme for the month. This will occur through the use of videos, books, and presentations. Following this the Youth will break into discussion groups that will be led by our leaders Lynne, Graham, Curtis, Josiah, Brittany, Dez, & Aiden. In these groups Youth will have an opportunity to further discuss the presentation, video or speaker, creating an interactive learning experience. A physical activity will follow. Snack and a time of fellowship will end the night. Youth Group ends at 9:00pm. Most Youth nights will follow this structure.

We are very excited to welcome new Youth Members! We are also welcoming and appreciating new Youth Leaders this year. Without the dedication, time, and energy of these leaders Youth Group would not be possible.

This year the Youth will learn about the Five Marks of Mission. Throughout the year we will participate in faith building activities, mission work, and volunteer service. This year we will also hear from groups, speakers, and ministries that work in mission. Youth will be encouraged to recognize and explore their own spiritual gifts, passions, and identity in Christ as they work to find a personal way to proclaim the gospel, encourage others, transform unjust structures, respond to human need, and safeguard creation. Check out the schedule below!
